Terms of Service

These terms explain the rules for using HexWrapper. By installing or using the app, you agree to them with Jared Bennett, who publishes HexWrapper under the JT87 brand.

1. Introduction

HexWrapper is a native macOS app published by Jared Bennett under the JT87 brand. These Terms govern your use of the app, the license key, and the related legal pages at jt87.net.

2. License Grant

As long as you follow these Terms, Jared Bennett grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use HexWrapper on macOS devices that you own or control.

Your Responsibilities

  • Check your own server setup before running anything: storage paths, permissions, network settings, backups, and environment details are on your side.
  • Keep any third-party credentials you use with the app, including GitHub or Docker Hub credentials, secure.
  • Review generated scripts before using them, and do not share your license key.

3. Prohibited Activities

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble HexWrapper; distribute, rent, lend, or sublicense it to others; share license keys; or use the app in a way that violates applicable law.

4. Third-Party Services

HexWrapper works with services and resources outside JT87, including GitHub, Docker Hub, Lemon Squeezy, and TrueNAS catalog resources that are public or available to you. Those services have their own terms, licenses, rate limits, privacy practices, and account requirements.

Those services can change without notice. Catalogs can move, disappear, break format, or return incomplete data. HexWrapper cannot control that and does not promise that third-party content will always be available, accurate, secure, or compatible.

5. Purchases, Licensing, and Refunds

HexWrapper is sold through Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy handles checkout, payment processing, receipts, taxes, chargebacks, and related transaction records, and may act as merchant of record for the purchase.

International purchases may be priced or charged in currencies Lemon Squeezy supports. Sales tax, VAT, GST, consumption tax, currency conversion, card fees, bank fees, and local payment-provider charges may apply depending on where you are and how you pay.

Unless checkout says otherwise, HexWrapper purchases are generally final after a license key is delivered or activated. Refund requests can still be reviewed case by case, and Lemon Squeezy may issue refunds or handle disputes under its own policies. Nothing here is meant to take away refund, withdrawal, warranty, or consumer-protection rights that the law does not allow you to waive.

6. No Affiliation with HexOS or TrueNAS

HexWrapper is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by HexOS, TrueNAS, iXsystems, or the owners or operators of those products and services.

HexOS, TrueNAS, iXsystems, and related names, logos, trademarks, and copyrights belong to their respective owners. HexWrapper refers to them only to explain what the app works with.

7. Generated Scripts and User Responsibility

HexWrapper generates install scripts from catalog data, local rules, and the information available at the time. That output can be wrong, stale, incomplete, or a poor fit for your server.

Before running a script, read it. Make sure it matches your HexOS or TrueNAS setup, the app you are installing, your storage layout, your credentials, and any third-party license or server requirements. Keep backups before using generated scripts on systems that store important data.

You are also responsible for any import, export, sanctions, technical, or local-law restrictions that apply to your location, server, credentials, downloaded applications, or use of HexWrapper.

8. Changes to the App or Terms

HexWrapper can change over time. Features, compatibility, pricing, and availability may be updated, paused, or discontinued. These Terms may also change. When they do, the updated date on this page will change, and the posted version will apply unless it says otherwise.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

HexWrapper is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent allowed by law, Jared Bennett disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Jared Bennett is not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages related to HexWrapper, generated scripts, third-party services, or catalog data.

Some places do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits. If that applies to you, these limits apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

11. Severability

If one part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest still applies. The invalid part should be interpreted as closely as possible to its original purpose while staying enforceable.

Privacy Policy

HexWrapper does not have accounts or JT87-owned analytics servers. This section explains what the app touches and where purchase data goes.

1. Information We Access

HexWrapper has no JT87 account system, no sign-in, and no JT87-owned data collection server. The app accesses the information it needs to fetch catalog data and generate HexOS install scripts.

When you activate the app, your license key is checked with Lemon Squeezy's licensing API. HexWrapper does not send JT87 any separate profile, account, or analytics record.

If you buy HexWrapper through Lemon Squeezy, Lemon Squeezy handles payment information, billing details, tax information, receipts, fraud checks, and transaction records under its own policies. HexWrapper does not receive or store your full card number.

Data Security

Network requests use HTTPS. Your license key is stored in the macOS Keychain instead of a plain-text app file.

Third Parties

JT87 does not sell personal data from HexWrapper. Lemon Squeezy handles checkout and license validation.

2. How Information Is Used

Catalog data from GitHub, Docker Hub, and TrueNAS catalog resources is used to populate the app browser and generate scripts. HexWrapper caches that data locally on your Mac for performance. It is not sent to JT87-owned servers.

License information is used to check whether your copy is activated. If you email support, your message is used to answer you, troubleshoot the issue, and keep reasonable records of the conversation.

3. Local Storage and Retention

HexWrapper stores app data on your Mac, including catalog cache data, generated-script cache data, preferences, and app state. Your license key is stored in the macOS Keychain. To remove local data, delete the app and its related local support files.

JT87 does not run a user account database for HexWrapper. Transaction, license, tax, and payment-retention records live with Lemon Squeezy and its service providers.

4. Third-Party Processing

HexWrapper and the JT87 storefront rely on outside services for payment processing, license validation, catalog access, support communication, and app resources. Those services process data under their own privacy policies and legal duties.

If you buy or use HexWrapper outside the United States, purchase, license, support, or third-party service data may be processed in the United States or other countries where Lemon Squeezy or other providers operate. Privacy rules in those countries may differ from the rules where you live.

5. Children

HexWrapper is not made for children. It is intended for people who can manage macOS software, server configuration, and related technical responsibilities. Do not use HexWrapper if you are not legally able to agree to these terms.

6. Your Choices

You can choose not to enter a license key, but paid features may not activate. You can contact support with questions about a purchase, license, or support request. Lemon Squeezy and other providers may need to keep transaction records for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute, or legal reasons.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Payment and tax record requests may need to go to Lemon Squeezy because it handles checkout and transaction processing.

7. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may change when HexWrapper, the JT87 storefront, third-party services, or legal requirements change. When it changes, the updated date on this page will change too.

Software License Agreement

One license covers HexWrapper on up to two Macs you own or control, including 1.x updates.

Grant of License

Jared Bennett grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use HexWrapper on up to two Mac computers that you own or control. The license covers the version available when you bought it and later 1.x updates.

You are licensing the app, not buying the underlying software, source code, trademarks, design, documentation, generation rules, or other intellectual property.

Restrictions

You may not:

  • Copy, distribute, or share HexWrapper or your license key with others
  • Sell, sublicense, rent, lease, or lend the app
  • Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Use the app on more than two computers at the same time

Ownership

HexWrapper remains the property of Jared Bennett. JT87 is the brand HexWrapper is published under. This license lets you use the app; it does not transfer ownership.

Termination

This license lasts until it ends. It ends automatically if you violate it. If that happens, delete all copies of HexWrapper in your possession.

Termination does not erase rights or remedies for earlier violations, unpaid amounts, license-key misuse, or intellectual-property infringement.

Third-Party Terms

You are responsible for the terms, licenses, and policies of any third-party services, applications, catalogs, platforms, operating systems, or server software you use with HexWrapper.

Do not use HexWrapper where doing so would violate law, export-control rules, sanctions restrictions, or third-party platform requirements.

No Warranty

HexWrapper is provided as-is. Jared Bennett does not guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every version of HexOS, TrueNAS, macOS, or any third-party app.

Generated scripts are not guaranteed to install, configure, secure, update, or maintain any third-party application correctly.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Jared Bennett is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of HexWrapper.

Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the jurisdiction where Jared Bennett is located, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Severability

If one part of this license is invalid or unenforceable, the rest still applies.
